Amidst world pandemic, the biggest digital PC gaming platform, Steam, reached a new concurrent online players record of 20 million (20,313,451), with 6.2 million in-game at that moment, likely because of many people staying at home due to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

This was reported and counted by SteamDB, a platform known as a reliable source for all things related to Steam statistics and numbers.<\/p>\n

The previous record was set just over a month ago, on February 9, when 19,107,803 people were logged into Steam at the same time, which was also likely due to coronavirus spreading in China back then – both Dota 2 and CS:GO are free2play and quite popular in the most populous country of the world.<\/p>\n

Considering that new quarantines are being declared around the world with each passing hour, we can expect to see an even bigger number of players in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

And not just on Steam, but on the other platforms also: Epic (Fortnite), Battle.net (Call of Duty: Warzone, Overwatch, WoW), and others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
