This makes sure only the deserving teams proceed to the champion&rsquo;s arena. ESL has not released the fixtures yet. However, we will update the dates once it is official.<\/p>\n<p>The IEM Cologne has three phases in the tournament. The entire format is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Play-In (5th-6th July 2022)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Play-Ins will take a couple of days starting from 5th July. It will follow the double-elimination format. Except for opening BO1 matches, all other games will be BO3. The top eight teams from Play-Ins will advance to the Group Stage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Group Stage (7th-10th July 2022)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The IEM Cologne 2022 event will have two groups of eight teams each. It will follow two double-elimination format (GSL) with all games being BO3. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. While Group stage winners will sit comfortably in the Semifinals, Group stage runners-up will advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds. The Group stage 3rd place teams will qualify for the Quarterfinals as the low seed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Playoffs (15th-17th July 2022)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Playoffs feature a single-elimination bracket with the Quarterfinals and Semifinals being BO3.
