Fans worldwide were given a first look into the new development of Diablo<\/a> 4 at the recent Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. The game is scheduled to release in 2023<\/a> and will feature some major differences compared to Diablo Immortal, the most recent game in the Diablo franchise. <\/span><\/p>\n

So today we’re going to take a look at the main differences between Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4. And outline some of the most exciting features we can’t wait to play around with once the game releases next year. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Differences between Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4<\/span><\/h2>\n

Crossplay Features<\/h3>\n

Of course, the main difference between these two titles in Diablo Immortals focuses on being a mobile game first and then extended to PC. Whereas Diablo 4 is set to be available on all platforms from its release. <\/span><\/p>\n

The most notable aspect of this is full crossplay from day one of its release. Meaning players can play with their friends regardless of platform, but also allows for multiplayer co-op, so playing with your friends on the couch is easier than ever. <\/span><\/p>\n

Character Customisation<\/h3>\n

Diablo 4 will feature more varied and detailed character customization than Diablo Immortal, letting players immerse themselves in their role-playing experience. This offers players more replayability with Diablo 4, allowing players to choose their fantasy when playing the game, but also when starting a new game it feels like a brand new experience each time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dark Themed World<\/h3>\n

The world of Diablo 4 itself differs greatly from that of Diablo Immortal, while eDiablo Immortal was more focused on the epic fantasy aspect of the world, Diablo 4 takes it in a different direction. The game will be grimmer and gorier than ever before seen in Diablo titles which gives the game a world that feels brand for players to immerse themselves in. <\/span><\/p>\n

Open-World Gameplay<\/h3>\n

The world of Diablo 4 doesn’t just look different though, it’s been completely revamped from the ground up compared to Diablo Immortal. Diablo 4 is now set in a massive open world that is no longer connected through map screens and portals (though portals will likely still be featured for fast travel). <\/span><\/p>\n

This new open-world will feature 150 dungeons for players to explore and clear as they freely move around the world and explore new features the open world contains, such as Strongholds. These are areas that enemies control, but once they are cleared, it becomes a town\/area filled with NPCs that can hold more content for the player to enjoy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Another feature in Diablo 4 not seen in Diablo Immortal is the addition of Local Events. These are events that players can come across as they venture through the open world and choose to take part in or not, making the world feel more realistic and dynamic.  <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the Strongholds the new open map offers, it also changes up the formulae for bosses featured in Diablo Immortal. Instead of only having dungeon bosses and event bosses, Diablo 4 will also feature Field bosses that you can come across as you travel through the world that you can choose to fight alone or with your party. <\/span><\/p>\n

New PvP Zones<\/h3>\n

Diablo 4 also implements a new system for PvP (Player versus Player) compared to Diablo Immortal. Not only can players now access PvP at any time during the game, but there are also dedicated areas for PvP to take place called “PvP zones” where players can challenge one another. <\/span><\/p>\n

The PvP has also now features a new system that puts a target on your back if you’re a high-level player, marking you as a “Champion” and making you the ideal target for players to take down and plunder your loot. This makes the PvP more engaging and high stakes than previously in Diablo Immortal. <\/span><\/p>\n

The End Game <\/h3>\n

And finally, the end game of Diablo 4 is set to be considerably more substantive than Diablo Immortal. The end game in Diablo 4 now features more dungeons that can be unlocked, new abilities, weapons, and skills to gain, and of course, new enemies and bosses to defeat.<\/span><\/p>\n

This means the end game of Diablo 4 can be seen as an entirely new part of the game and one that still offers challenges and rewards for players who’ve come this far. One thing is certain; Diablo 4 is going to change the way Diablo fans see the franchise and set a new standard for action RPG adventure games to come. <\/span><\/p>\n
