At the time of writing, while we know what the new starters will be and some of the characters have been revealed in the game, we are curious about what brand new features the game will be rolling out, specifically if there will be any new types in the game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you&#8217;re asking this same question and are curious to know more about the possible new types that could appear in Pok&eacute;mon Scarlet and Violet, then keep reading. (Picture: Twitter \/ AzuriteProject)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The existence of Sound Type Pok&eacute;mon has been speculated for a while by fans of the franchise, with Pok&eacute;mon such as Exploud, Kricketune, and Wigglypuff, all having abilities that stem from using sound to attack or defend themselves. However, these Pok&eacute;mon have always been delegated to Ground or Normal Types, etc, and fans feel it would make more sense to include a new Sound type to group them into.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This would not only make more sense logistically since you can broaden the abilities and interactions possible between Sound Type Pok&eacute;mon and other types. (Picture: Twitter \/ RandomPokeBot)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The idea for Fungi Type Pok&eacute;mon stems from the already established Bug and Grass Type Pok&eacute;mon that already exist. While some of them do look like bugs or plants, some of them look more like mushrooms or different types of fungi in real life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Pok&eacute;mon such as Parasect, Gloom, Shroomish, and Amoonguss (cue Among Us sound effect) are all Pok&eacute;mon that could benefit from not only being under the Fungi Type but could allow for more fungus-type moves specific to them. This makes the Fungi Type a door to new styles of gameplay with more realistic abilities, attacks, and combinations with Water, Dark, or Fire Types (since most Fungi love moist, dark, and warm environments).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Light Type<\/span><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/mPRY9rTllmrDUTVXGV1lgiCpEZMKwE3-CUqsHscSl7M\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9Qb2tlbW9uL1BvayVDMyVBOW1vbl9TY2FybGV0X2FuZF9WaW9sZXRfLV9BcmVfdGhlcmVfbmV3X1BvayVDMyVBOW1vbl90eXBlcy9Qb2slQzMlQTltb25fU2NhcmxldF9hbmRfVmlvbGV0Xy1fQXJlX3RoZXJlX25ld19Qb2slQzMlQTltb25fdHlwZXNfTGlnaHQuanBn\" alt=\"Pok&eacute;mon Scarlet and Violet Are there new Pok&eacute;mon types Light Type\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">The Light Type can be an extension of any esiting type in the game and create unique mixes for different Pok&eacute;mon types. (Picture: Twitter \/ SerebiiNet)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Light Type Pok&eacute;mon would likely be an extension of the Electric Type, or combine with other types that could give rise to new abilities and combinations. Pok&eacute;mon with moves such as illuminate, Light Beam, or Solar beam could benefit from being a Light Type in that they might not need to charge a Solar Beam or learn powerful moves earlier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Light Types could even lead to some interesting combinations; for instance, a Sunflora could potentially be a Grass\/Light type with powerful Light attacks and deadly grass-based attacks for control such as Drain, Leech, and so on. (Picture: Niantic)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Time or Temporal Type has mainly been advocated for since the arrival of Pokemon such as the Legendary Dialga. With its description being the &#8220;Temporal Pok&eacute;mon&#8221; and Roar of Time ability, it has opened up many discussions about the concept of Time or Temporal Type Pok&eacute;mon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the Past, Celebi has also been shown to use some form of time abilities as well, and in Pok&eacute;mon Scarlet and Violet, the types of the new Legendary Pok&eacute;mon, Koraidon, and Miraidon have yet to be revealed. (Picture: Niantic)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Artificial is more of a placeholder until a more suitable term is found, but this type stems from Pok&eacute;mon that are either very clearly inspired by man-made creations or only exist due to human intervention. So Pok&eacute;mon like Kleffkey, Voltorb, Klinklang, etc could all fit under this new banner of Pok&eacute;mon that are more artificial than natural.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Pok&eacute;mon such as the ones listed above are mainly combinations of already established types, but if they were to be Artificial Types, it could open up some new combinations. These can be described as Pok&eacute;mon that come from outer space, other dimensions, or pretty much anywhere that isn&#8217;t Earth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Examples of this can be Pok&eacute;mon such as Deoxys, which is defined as the DNA of a space virus that underwent a mutation after being exposed to a laser beam, resulting in the formation of Deoxys. Other types could be Solrock and Lunatone or even Clefairy, who all have ties to cosmic origins and have abilities that could be designated under the cosmic type.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Some abilities could be specific to Cosmic Types, such as Gravity, Cosmic Power (a bit on the nose if you ask me), and Moonblast.
