Weapon choices have always been important in the Monster Hunter<\/a> series, and with the new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion, there is a new pecking order for the weapon tier list. There haven’t been any new weapons added to the based game, but each one has had some tuning and new Silkbind skills.<\/p>\n

In total there are 14 weapon types that Hunters can choose from in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. Each one offers a fairly unique style that has its own pros and cons to deal with when you pick it up. Working through those to deal the most consistent damage can alter where some of these weapons end up on the tier list.<\/p>\n

Best weapon tier list for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak<\/h2>\n

Before ranking all of the 14 weapon types in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, it’s important to break down what exactly dictates a tier list within the game. At the end of the day, any weapon can be viable in the right hands, so it can be hard to rank overall classes. Learning the fights themselves will always be the largest factor, rather than the performance against other players.<\/p>\n

With that said, there are a couple of consistent gauges to rank the best weapon tier list in Sunbreak. The most important is the DPS (damage per second) or the total time that it takes to hunt a monster. These comparisons must be made against the same monster, and the top-tier weapons for each class are always used.<\/p>\n

Playstyle and usability are also part of the tier list process. Some weapons are simply far too complicated compared to much easier weapons with nearly the same output. In those cases, the ranks will change a bit. The tiers will be explained below.<\/p>\n

Tier rank description:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • S-Tier:<\/strong> These weapons are the best of the best. Not only do they provide some incredible DPS, but they are also fairly easy to pick up, and they are much safer.<\/li>\n
  • A-Tier:<\/strong> Any weapon in the A-Tier is just below the best weapon threshold. They aren’t the best, but they are pretty close. You can’t go wrong using these.<\/li>\n
  • B-Tier:<\/strong> This is the average category and you’re going to start to notice a change in damage and usability in this rank. More experienced players can use these far more effectively.<\/li>\n
  • C-Tier:<\/strong> In this list, the C-Tier will contain the bottom-of-the-barrel weapons. Monster Hunter doesn’t contain weapons that are unusable, so the C-Tier is the only necessary final rank. D-Tier doesn’t make much sense to use in this situation because of the rankings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Note:<\/strong> This best weapon tier list isn’t a copy of other lists, and it will change a bit depending on where you look. But the general power rankings remain and they follow the latest Sunbreak expansion.<\/p>\n

    S-Tier weapons in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak<\/h3>\n

    • Light Bowgun<\/li>\n
    • Heavy Bowgun<\/li>\n
    • Bow<\/li>\n
    • Greatsword<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      As you can see from the list, the ranged weapons are currently dominating the meta in Sunbreak. With a full squad of Bowguns and some coordination, monsters will fall in the blink of an eye. Not only are they safer in this meta, but they have a constant up time for damage because of their range.<\/p>\n

      Greatsword is here as well because of the sheer power and Silkbinds that the weapon has. It’s more forgiving than other heavy weapons and can devastate monsters with some good positioning.<\/p>\n

      A-Tier weapons in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak<\/h3>\n

      • Long Sword<\/li>\n
      • Switch Axe<\/li>\n
      • Charge Blade<\/li>\n
      • Dual Blades<\/li>\n
      • Sword and Shield<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Many of the weapons in the A-Tier are common weapons, or some of the most popular within the game. The Long Sword along makes up for a good chunk of the player base. These weapons are all fantastic options, but some have been nerfed just a bit. They require more work than the ranged options listed above.<\/p>\n

        B-Tier weapons in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak<\/h3>\n

        • Insect Glaive<\/li>\n
        • Hammer<\/li>\n
        • Hunting Horn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Each of these weapons is unique compared to the rest of the options in the game. With the new speed change on the Hammer, this weapon has the potential for higher tiers. But it is much harder to use than most weapons, and it requires a ton of positioning. Other higher tiers have constant DPS pressure. <\/p>\n

          C-Tier weapons in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak<\/h3>\n

          • Lance<\/li>\n
          • Gun Lance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Unfortunately, the lance weapons got the short end of the stick in Sunbreak. They can still be used, and they definitely have some redeeming Silkbind attacks. However, they require far too much skill with the weapon just to fall short of high tiers regardless.<\/p>\n

            So there you have it. That’s the best weapon tier list in the Sunbreak expansion. Rankings could change with future updates, but these are the tiers for now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
