However, this story will focus on different characters, primarily &#8211; Jade and Billie Wesker, daughters of the iconic Albert Wesker.<\/p>\n<p>Strangely enough, the mad undercover agent and scientist also return to Netflix&#8217;s Resident Evil TV series and will play a crucial role in Jade and Billie&#8217;s harrowing journey through the new Racoon City and the destroyed and disheveled streets of the post-apocalyptic London.<\/p>\n<p>But what exactly is Albert Wesker&#8217;s role in this upcoming RE TV series? Fans of the Resident Evil TV series may remember Wesker&#8217;s brutal and oddly satisfying death at the end of Resident Evil 5. While we never got to see Wesker&#8217;s dead body, RE 5 director Masachika Kawatasa confirmed that Wesker had indeed died.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming Resident Evil TV series takes place in two different timelines. (Picture: Capcom)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Interestingly, the Resident Evil TV series showrunner Andrew Dabb addressed the elephant in the room in an <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/tv\/resident-evil-video-games-backstory-netflix-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">interview with EW<\/a>. After all, the insatiable power-hungry agent wasn&#8217;t a regular human to begin with after injecting himself with the T-Virus, and, as such, the developers found another plausible way to bring back him and his iconic shades back.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out that the explanation of Wesker&#8217;s reappearance in the Resident Evil universe is a big part of the narrative in this upcoming TV series. As a result, fans should expect a &nbsp;proper explanation in season 1.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to give too much away, but I will say the explanation for why Wesker is the way that he is and how he is still alive go hand in hand,&#8221; says Dabb.
