Shadow Latios is a Dragon-type Pokémon<\/a> Trainers will likely encounter when going up against Team GO Rocket Boss Giovanni. Shadow Latios will be one of three Pokémon in rotation during this boss battle, each varying in difficulty.<\/p>\n

The biggest question many Trainers will likely ask is whether Shadow Latios is worth adding to your Pokémon collection. A logical question at best as we explore the Pokémon’s rankings across multiple leagues, abilities, movesets, and resistances to determine whether you should save it.<\/p>\n

Is it worthwhile catching Shadow Latios in Pokémon GO?<\/h2>\n

The short answer to this question would be <\/span>YES<\/span><\/strong>, but this depends on how Trainers will best utilize Shadow Latios to get the best results. <\/span>In Raid Battles, Shadow Latios<\/a> and Latios have one of the weaker PvE movesets for a Dragon-type; however, it has better potential as a Psychic-type primarily due to notable resistance to Psychic, Fire, and Water types.<\/p>\n

Its Mega evolution can be powerful against weaker Dragon and Psychic-types; Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo Y will surpass it. The Shadow Latios’ success rate in PvP is determined by which league you’re competing in and its moveset of Dragon Breath\/Dragon Claw and Psychic moveset, which deals a high amount of damage and is more agile.<\/p>\n

Shadow Latios would fair best against Pokémon like Talonflame, Medicham, and Swampert when competing in Great League<\/a>. Unfortunately, due to its weaknesses, it will have a tough time against Sableye (Dark\/Ghost-type) and Shadow Nidoqueen (Poison-type).<\/p>\n

It will be a letdown in the Ultra League<\/a> as there are stronger Dragon and Fairy-type Pokémon like Giratina. While there is plenty of elemental Pokemon like Venusaur and Talonflame, it can easily have the upper hand; the Ultra League will prove too much for Shadow Latios to handle.<\/p>\n

    The Master League<\/a> paints a different picture as the Shadow Latios is ranked #23 overall and possesses a stronger moveset due to the Dragon Breath ability. Being a Legendary Pokémon, Shadow Latios will notch up critical victories against Girantina, Garchomp, and Gyrandos, but where it will not get wins is against Dragonite, Mewtwo, and Dialga.<\/p>\n
