Lord of the Rings Online will celebrate its 13th anniversary this April. This more than a dozen years old, MMO is still very much alive and well, with an abundance of content and a decent active player-base.<\/p>\n
During these 13 years, the game got numerous free updates and several paid expansion packs, which added iconic Middle-Earth regions into the game, like Moria, Isengard, Rohan, and Gondor, with rich story elements and numerous gameplay content. A few years ago, Mordor(2017) expansion was released, and just last year, we got the newest one – Minas Morgul. Plans aren’t stopping there since the future expansion is also in the works. It’s planned for release in 2021, and it will be Gundabad-themed.<\/p>\n
Admit it, your inner geek got excited just by hearing the names of all these legendary locations, and you just want your imagination to teleport you there immediately? No need for that when you can now play LotR online completely free and jump right into Middle-earth and all its wonders.<\/p>\n

From now until April 30(that’s right, 40 days!), all of the expansions, quests, instances, and other paid content will be entirely free for everyone who wants to play LotR online. That, of course, includes the base game, which is f2p.<\/p>\n

Guys from Standing Stone Games (in charge of developing new content for the game), will create some special events for the game during that period.<\/p>\n
