Whether Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is open world or not is among the burning questions most players have been asking and here’s everything you need to know about it.

Ubisoft recently released a brand new gameplay overview video which does a decent job of setting up the world, mechanics, and other features of the upcoming free-to-play mobile game.

However, many are unsure regarding the Resurgence map and its nature. So here’s all you need to know.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence will be an open-world game, despite the game being targeted at mobile platforms. Ubisoft themselves has confirmed this on the overview section of the game’s official website, where the phrase “open world” can be seen several times.

One of the phrases on the website reads: “Explore the open-world in Solo or Coop to play a variety of PVE activities, from story missions to world activities. Roam around an outstandingly detailed urban environment with stunning graphics.”

There’s even the mention of the “urban open world” that seems to be New York City, where the original Division took place. So, players will have the whole of New York City at their disposal and will be free to roam around the world however they want. Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence will also have a brand new campaign and might even tie up in some way with the events of the original game.

The official website reads: “For newcomers and veterans, discover a new PVE campaign. Be part of the legendary first wave of SHD agents and get a unique perspective of the events around The Division 1 & 2.” So it looks as if the game will be in some way tie into the events of the original game.

Resurgence is currently in closed alpha and the signups for the closed alpha are already well underway. While the game has no release date as of now, we can expect its release sometime in late 2022 or early 2023.

However, this is just speculation and we will need to wait for an official announcement by Ubisoft. That’s everything about whether Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is open world or not.
