Call of Duty: Warzone has been a massive success since it’s launch, providing a novel twist on the Battle Royale formula that many felt had gotten a little stale.

The introduction of various types of respawns and self-revives keep you in the action for longer and the customization of not necessarily your weapons(though there is plenty of that), but your character itself with perks and field upgrades that give you stat boosts and added functionality in the field.

Picking the right perks and field upgrades can be the difference between winning or losing, and what ones you pick will vary depending on how you play the game.

So to help you out and start racking up those wins, we have put together a perks guide – detailing everything you need to know to get the most out of this crucial aspect of the game.

In Warzone you can have up to three perks.

These perks are pre-selected from the loadout screen so you will need to do that before the game starts – you can 10 custom load-outs.

To get your custom loadout in the Battle Royale game mode you will need to pick it up from a Loadout Drops.

You can either purchase one from a Buy Station or hope that you come across the three that land randomly throughout the match.

Perks are broken down into three categories and only one perk can be chosen per category.

You can change your perks mid-game but only by purchasing a loadout drop and selecting a new pre-selected loadout.

So that means you can’t swap perks in and out mid-game without changing all three that you have selected before the game starts.

Perks are active-passive additions to your character meaning you don’t have to turn them on. They can make you undetectable to UAVs, increase your movement speed, allow you to heal your teammates faster or reduce the damage taken from various munitions.

Double Time – Double the duration of Tactical Sprint, increase crouch movement speed by 30%.

E.O.D – Take reduced damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.

Scavenger – Re-supply ammo from dead players.

Cold-blooded – Undetectable by AI targeting system and thermal optics. Does not trigger High Alert warning.

Killl Chain – Increase your chance of finding killstreaks in supply boxes.

Quick Fix – Killing players immediately starts health regeneration. Capturing and holding objectives increases your health regeneration rate.

Restock – Recharge equipment over 50 seconds.

Hardline – 25% off kiosk prices for killstreaks, field upgrades, and armour plates.

Overkill – Can carry two primary weapons.

High Alert – Your vision pulses when enemies outside of your view see you.

Ghost – Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones, and Heartbeat Sensors.

Pointman – All members of your team earn more money from completed missions.

Tune Up – Reduce the charge time of field upgrade by 40%. Reduce revive time by 25%.

Amped – Faster weapon swap and rocket launcher reload speed.

Shrapnel – Spawn with an extra piece of lethal equipment. Explosive damage delays enemy health regeneration.

Battle Hardened – Reduce the strength of enemy flash, stun, EMP and gas effects. Immune to snapshot grenades.

Spotter – See enemy equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks through walls. Mark them for your team by aiming down sights. Hack enemy Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4, and Trophy System.

Tracker – Enemies leave behind a footprint trail. See markers at enemy death locations and hide the death markers of enemies you kill.

Now you know what each of the perks are and what they do you need to decide what combination of perks you choose. You can only pick one perk from each category so consider this carefully.

CS:GO and all-round boss Michael “shroud” Grzesiek recently spoke of the best perks in Call of Duty: Warzone and he suggested that everyone needs to have Ghost and Cold-blooded on because it counters all the other perks. Both help stop you being detected by various perks and items in the game like UAV’s helping you mask your position which is vital to gaining the upper hand.
