Diablo Immortal has been at the forefront of some controversy recently, with the game costing a ludicrous amount to get to max level if you pay for it, and the microtransactions coming across as fairly aggressive. But despite all this, the game has managed to turn a pretty penny for Blizzard Entertainment.

The game has garnered over 100 million dollars through mobile purchases alone, and in only just 8 short weeks after its release. So let’s look at exactly how and why Diablo Immortal has managed to pull off this impressive feat of financial success.

Diablo Immortal has reached this huge financial milestone in an impressively short time of two months (or 8 weeks) and is only second to Pokemon Go which reached its $100 million mark in just two weeks. It had been estimated before that Diablo Immortal was earning around 1 million dollars a day, but it seems that this was a conservative number.

Due to the amount of money Diablo Immortal is making, it would be highly unlikely for Blizzard to change its transaction system for mobile devices, (since this is the main source of income for Diablo’s microtransactions), or for other platforms. This can be a bit frustrating since many fans have complaints about the game’s current mechanics.
