It looks like the year 2020 will finally be the year of Virtual Reality in gaming, all thanks to Valve.<\/p>\n
Half-Life: Alyx became massively popular and the first real AAA title amongst the VR games. Both critics and fans alike are equally delighted with the experience, and the game is currently sitting on a 92 Metacritic score.<\/p>\n
The best Virtual Reality has to offer when it comes to hardware is Valve Index VR, which came with a free Half-Life: Alyx. Although it’s quite costly, with a price around ~1000$, it is by far the best way to play VR games. But Valve doesn’t plan to stop there.<\/p>\n
Just one day after the release of Half-Life: Alyx, they announced a collaboration on a new VR headset with Microsoft and HP. That product still doesn’t even have a name, just a generic “Next-Gen HP VR Headset”, although URL refers to it as the Reverb G 2 VR Headset.<\/p>\n
We basically don’t know anything about it right now, but it does have an official Steam page<\/a>, as well as product page<\/a> on HP website, from where the supposed name Reverb G 2 comes.<\/p>\n “Developed in collaboration with Valve and Microsoft, the next-gen HP VR headset delivers a more immersive, comfortable and compatible experience than the previous generation. It’s the new standard in VR,” says the official description.<\/p>\n It is interesting to note that Microsoft was categorically against the VR in previous years. They looked at it as something that is still not a norm, and that is basically a gimmick , rather than a standard for gaming. But now we see them cooperating with Valve and HP on this next-gen headset. Does that mean that VR is finally coming to Xbox with the Series X launch?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
