FromSoftware established a new sub-genre of games with Dark Souls and Bloodborne. While there have been plenty in the veins of the former, not many games carry the gothic DNA of Bloodborne. That’s where Thymesia comes in.<\/p>\n

Thymesia is a fast-paced gothic action RPG<\/a> by indie developer OverBorder Studio. The game’s Bloodborneesque world and gameplay have piqued the interest of SoulsBorne players, and many are excited to get their hands on it.<\/p>\n

One of the most asked questions about Thymesia is whether it has an asynchronous multiplayer component like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. If you’re one of those, who are curious to know the answer to this question, read our guide to find out exactly that. <\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it seems there is no multiplayer functionality in Thymesia. The developers had previously confirmed that Thymesia was designed to be a single-player-only experience. 
Jonno, one of the developers on Thymesia replied to a fan on Steam<\/a> that the focus for Thymesia was to build “an immersive and satisfying single player world.”<\/p>\n

Will Thymesia get a multiplayer mode in the futurre?<\/h2>\n

Many fans have since then wondered whether there are any plans to add multiplayer or co-op functionality in the future, though as of this writing, it remains a big mystery. <\/p>\n

The lack of multiplayer in any SoulsBorne title might not bode well with the veteran fans of the sub-genre since most of these games are brutally challenging experiences, and having another player to aid or betray you in your journey is part of the charm. <\/p>\n

That said, a single-player-only SoulsBorne experience might not be a bad thing, especially since FromSoftware’s very own Sekiro offers a completely single-player experience, that too a fine one. <\/p>\n
