Light machine guns, also known as LMGs, are a cross between an assault rifle and a heavy machine gun, with similar power and ammunition capacity to Submachine guns. Light machine guns can be heavy, slowing your movements, and they don’t always have the best handling.

They do, however, excel at medium-long range fights where overwhelming your opponents is the goal, and are ideal for players seeking a balance of range and power. Our tier description and list of the best light machine guns in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 are provided below.

Tier rank description:

S-Tier: Weapons that are at the top of the rank and do not require any upgrades to be the best at what LMGs do; however, they can be upgraded to be even more powerful and dominate the game.

A-Tier: When combined with the appropriate attachments, these weapons can compete with S-tier weapons and outperform the tiers below at the base.

B-Tier: LMGs in this tier are in the middle of the options available, and with the right loadout, they can be formidable, but not the best.

C-Tier: LMGs in the C-tier are rarely worth considering as your primary weapon, but they can be good backup options if equipped with the best attachment options.

D-Tier: Last is the trash tier, as these LMGs will not serve you well in any way and should not be considered for your loadout.
