Now that the Season of Light has been announced by Niantic, many of the events for September of 2022 are outlined and the Inkay Limited Research day is right around the corner. With a brand new Psychic Cup on the way and a cosmic theme, there’s no better time for the return of the Revolving Pokémon.

Inkay made its Pokémon GO debut last year during the 2021 Psychic Spectacular, but like most debuts in the mobile game, there was no shiny form to catch. There has been a year since the last Psychic event and it would be the perfect time to add the opportunity for a shiny Malamar.

On September 3, Inkay will kick off one of the first Limited Research events in the Pokémon GO Season of Light. One of the best additions of this Psychic-type event is the opportunity to catch a shiny Inkay. For the first time in the game, the shiny form of the Revolving Pokémon will certainly be available.

Shiny Inkay has a very different color scheme when compared to the normal form. Rather than the deep blues and blacks that are the signature of the squid, the shiny form has green and gold hues. Both the first form and Malamar have the same hues on both color schemes.
