Psychic Spectacular is back<\/a> in Pokémon GO and one of the main features for the event is Elgyem. The Cerebral Pokémon is in nearly every reward for the Time Research as well as the wild spawn pool that players can encounter for the next week.<\/p>\n

When a Pokémon is so heavily featured in the game, most Trainers want to know if it’s possible to add another shiny to their collection. This guide will answer whether you can get a shiny Elgyem of your own and the best way to catch one while the Psychic Spectacular event is live in the mobile game.<\/p>\n

Starting on September 6, Trainers around the world will be able to take advantage of the Psychic Spectacular event in Pokémon GO. This event is a returning special that has debuted in the past. Step one of the Special Research for the Season of Light calls of catching Psychic-type Pokémon and this is the perfect opportunity.<\/p>\n

But this is also a fantastic opportunity for some new shiny Pokémon, and you can rest easy knowing that Elgyem is on that roster. Not only will Elgyem be spawning all over the wild for Trainers to catch at their leisure, but the Cerebral Pokémon is also a reward for nearly every task in the Timed Research.<\/p>\n

    In the past, shiny Elgyem was excluded from the pool of shiny Pokémon in the game, making this event a debut for the alien-like being. Niantic typically saves shiny variants of Pokémon for major events like the Psychic Spectacular to keep Trainers coming back. After the event is over, shiny Elgyem will still remain.<\/p>\n

    The chances of catching a shiny Elgyem in the wild are about 1 out of 500. That’s the normal rate for anything you encounter as you walk around your local area. However, the Cerebral Pokémon is also a featured reward encounter for most tasks in the Psychic Spectacular 2022 research. Each step will require you to throw Curveballs for a total of 42. <\/p>\n

    Research rewards always give you a higher chance of a shiny by nearly five times. But you can also take advantage of the increased spawns around Pokémon GO. Make sure to travel around a populated area and have an Incense Lure activated for an hour of event-based spawns. Using a Lure Module at a PokéStop is even better for a high encounter rate. With any luck, you’ll find your own shiny Elgyem.<\/p>\n
