Fashion Week is back<\/a> in Pokémon GO, and not only is Furfrou readily available for Trainers to catch, but there is also a debut to hold everyone’s attention in the vent. For the first time, Mareanie and Toxapex are in the mobile game, and that brings up some new questions.<\/p>\n

One of the most exciting aspects of Pokémon GO, or the franchise in general, is the chance of catching a shiny when you’re out in the wild. But unlike other games, not every Pokémon has a shiny form to catch in GO. This guide will go over the Mareanie debut and whether it can be shiny or not.<\/p>\n

At the time of this writing, shiny Mareanie does not exist in Pokémon GO. Despite making a debut during Fashion Week, any of the Brutal Star Pokémon that you encounter will only have one color. To get a shiny Mareanie, you’ll have to wait for a future event that goes live within GO.<\/p>\n

Though it’s disappointing when a new addition doesn’t have a shiny form, this is par for the course at this point in the cycle. Nearly every Pokémon that debuts, even if they are Legendary, will lack a shiny form. Because of how rare and enticing shinies are in Pokémon GO, they are saved for future events.<\/p>\n
