One of the biggest distinctions Blizzard made between Overwatch and Overwatch 2<\/a> was that the sequel would not only update and enhance the standard multiplayer but would come with a full-blown single-player story mode as well. <\/p>\n

All the characters and locations in the Overwatch franchise have so much personality, and fans have been crying out to have this lore deepened and the overall world expanded. <\/p>\n

It shouldn’t be too difficult a task considering the number of animations, comics, and more that Blizzard has released featuring Overwatch characters. <\/p>\n

Unfortunately, being a solely multiplayer game leaves very little in the way of worlbuilding possibilities for Blizzard – which is something that Overwatch 2 hoped to remedy. <\/p>\n

So, let’s take a look at what’s new in Overwatch 2 and whether or not it comes with the highly anticipated story mode!<\/p>\n

Does Overwatch 2 Have A Story Mode<\/h2>\n

The answer to this question is both yes and no. As of October 2022, there is no story mode in Overwatch 2. The game has been released in a similar state to the original Overwatch, featuring only a selection of online multiplayer game modes. <\/p>\n

However, this is not Blizzard reneging on its promise. The game is still slated to receive a fully realized PVE Story Mode sometime in 2023.<\/p>\n

What Will Appear In Overwatch 2 Story Mode<\/h2>\n

Very little is known about what the Overwatch 2 PVE mode will be like. Blizzard has been keeping their cards close to its chest, only offering vague and teasing hints about what is to come. <\/p>\n

So far, we know that players will be given deeper control over their character, hero leveling and skill trees will be implemented, and upgraded abilities for each hero will allow you to mow down waves of enemies. <\/p>\n

Additionally, exclusive PVE areas have also been hinted at, with tons of other maps taking place in already existing locations. <\/p>\n
