When the Season of Light began in Pokémon GO, Cosmog was introduced for the first time and Trainers had access to a new Legendary in the game. However, there was no option to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem, even if Trainers used rare candies and skipped ahead on the research.

The research that was introduced is called A Cosmic Companion, and the first couple of steps reward players with their own Cosmog. There were only four steps in the research though until the Evolving Stars event went live. This guide will go over the new steps and how to get your own Cosmoem in Pokémon GO.

Once you have your own Cosmog, you’ll need enough candy, in general, to go up a form. The evolution into Cosmoem, which is the second form, will cost 25 Candy. That number is par for the course and is fairly easy to build up as long as you take on Special Research challenges or use Rare Candy. You can even walk with the Nebula Pokémon as your buddy for more candy.

After you have enough candy, the next major step is to unlock the ability to evolve. Because Cosmog is tied to the Season of Light Special Research, progress is time-gated. No one was able to evolve their Cosmog until Evolving Stars went live on October 5.

Pokémon GO – How To Evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem
