Odds are that you’ve seen some different symbols inside player names when you’re spectating an enemy that just took you down in Fortnite. One of the most popular symbols you’ll encounter is the Trident (Ψ), and as you might’ve guessed, you can’t just use a normal controller or keyboard for it.

While it’s odd to see these symbols inside of player names when you’re sent back to the lobby, it’s much easier to use than you might think. In this guide, we’ll go over how to add the Trident to your Fortnite username with nearly no effort involved.

The Trident symbol is unfortunately reserved for a few platforms. Both Xbox and PlayStation players will have to sit this one out due to how the username system works on those platforms. However, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, and PC players can still pull this off for themselves.

Step one is to sign into your Epic Games account online. Once you log into the account, hover over your username at the top right of the screen and open up the ‘Manage Account’ option. Here you’ll find your username with a blue box next to it. Click on the blue box to edit the name.

Below are the steps for adding the Trident (Ψ) symbol to your name:

There are all kinds of symbols you can do this with when you’re copying characters in your Fortnite account. As long as the character registers as a symbol rather than something like a photo, it will likely register.

We mentioned consoles would have to sit out, but the Nintendo Switch gets a pass because the name you use on Epic Games is displayed there. So the Trident will still work.

For more Fortnite news be sure to check out our dedicated section, or some of our Guides & Tutorials, just below:

Fortnite Guides – All Fortnite Redeem Codes | When Does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 Start?|All Fortnite Twitch Drop Rewards| How To Make Your Own Fortnite Skin |

Fortnite Events – Fortnite Winterfest 2022 |

The Best Fortnite Creative Codes – Best Edit Course Codes|Best Prop Hunt Codes|Best Zombie Map Codes

Featured image courtesy of Epic Games.

Odds are that you’ve seen some different symbols inside player names when you’re spectating an enemy that just took you down in Fortnite.
