With the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2<\/a> and the upcoming Warzone 2<\/a>, there’s a lot of excitement in the air. We all know excitement can sometimes lead to some emotional reactions, and the Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to toxic behavior from some players. That’s where a new reporting system for Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2, and future COD titles comes into play.<\/p>\n

The reporting system comes with new moderation features, all thanks to Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, Sledgehammer Games, Demonware, Treyarch, Activision Player Support, and more. This is all in the continued fight to combat toxicity, which Activision calls a “continued commitment.”<\/p>\n

New COD Reporting System For MW2 & WZ2<\/h2>\n

Modern Warfare 2 is the first title to introduce this new reporting system. It provides players will more ways to “report offensive behavior” alongside tools for moderation teams to fight the good fight against toxicity. <\/p>\n

The new Call of Duty reporting system allows the moderation team, for example, to mute a player<\/strong> globally if toxicity is detected. This also goes for text chat for those abusing the communication systems. <\/p>\n

These features will be available in Warzone 2 when it launches, and future COD titles will also use the new reporting system as a foundation. You can go through the complete Security and Enforcement policy<\/a> for yourself.<\/p>\n

There’s also a new, optional dialog box, which allows players to provide context about a report. Activision explains: “This optional dialog box allows players to tell us more about the situation. This, along with the entire overhaul, is foundational to the third pillar of the Call of Duty universe Code of Conduct to ‘Stay Vigilant,’ providing players with more tools to help report anything offensive or inappropriate they encounter.”<\/p>\n

If you played the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta, you might have noticed the in-game Code of Conduct acknowledgment.<\/p>\n

The first time you run MW2, Warzone 2, or a future Call of Duty title and jump into a multiplayer playlist, this Code of Conduct screen above will appear. Players are required the acknowledge this Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n

We wish the developers the best of luck in combating toxicity in Call of Duty, MW2, and Warzone 2, as well as future titles. It’s a tough battle, but maybe the new reporting system will help.<\/p>\n
