Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the latest open-world RPG entries to the long-standing Pokemon game franchise. Unfortunately, while the games’ initial announcement by publisher Nintendo was met with high hopes, fans’ excitement quickly dissipated following a botched launch characterized by a seemingly endless string of bugs and technical issues.

On 1 December 2022, Nintendo of America released a software update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (version 1.1.0) to address performance issues in response to backlash from fans. In a Twitter post, the publisher wrote, “We take the feedback from players seriously and will continue to work on improvements to the games.”
