Usually, these happen before weekly resets on Tuesdays, but sometimes Bungie deploys emergency maintenance to fix some ongoing technical issues; and every so often, Destiny services may be brought offline to undergo scheduled maintenance for the launch of a brand new expansion or Season.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1gu7rirv20\">Is Destiny 2 Undergoing Maintenance<\/h2>\n<p><pre><strong>Update - Yes, yes it is!<\/strong><\/pre>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re reading this, chances are the answer to your question is a big fat yes. Bungie will periodically bring the game offline for updates and hotfix maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>We try to keep this page updated around any significant updates from Bungie. It&#8217;s also worth keeping an eye on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.bungie.net\/\">official Bungie forums<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BungieHelp\">Bungie Help on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If, however, you&#8217;re reading this page and we&#8217;ve not updated it to reflect any future maintenance, it&#8217;s possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/destiny-2\/destiny-2-servers-down-server-status\">Destiny 2 is down<\/a> due to unscheduled server issues. You know, the ones that normally results in an increase in BEE, WEASEL, and other animal-based errors in Destiny 2.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1gu7r5gjd2\">How Long Will Destiny 2 Be Down For Maintenance<\/h2>\n<p><pre><strong>Update - In preparation for the release of The Final Shape, Destiny 2 has been brought offline and will be down for 24 hours. It's expected that players will be able to jump into Destiny 2 The Final Shape on June 4, at 10 AM PDT. Do note, it's possible maintenance could be extended.<\/strong><\/pre>\n<\/p>\n<p>In our experience Destiny 2 server maintenance typically begins at <strong>6 am PST (1 pm GMT)<\/strong> and<strong> lasts anything from 2-6 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Normally<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>the game will be brought offline and players will be removed from in-game activities. At this point, a new <strong>Destiny 2 <\/strong><strong>Update<\/strong>&nbsp;should&nbsp;be available to download on all platforms.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re wondering about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/destiny-2\/patch-notes-updates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Destiny 2 Patch Notes<\/strong><\/a> for this update, don&#8217;t fear, you can read everything Bungie has stated will change on the link above.
