It’s time for Genshin Impact’s annual Lantern Rite Festival <\/strong>with the upcoming 3.4 flagship event, The Exquisite Night Chimes. The event celebrates the Chinese New Year with free rewards, in-game decorations, outfits, and quests.<\/p>\n

Let’s delve into what players can expect for the Genshin Impact 3.4<\/a> Lantern Rite Festival event, including what it is, when it will begin, and which rewards players can earn by hopping into the world of Genshin Impact during the festivities.<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact 3.4 Lantern Rite Festival – Event Dates<\/h2>\n

Genshin Impact’s events traditionally follow a six-week schedule, meaning that the update’s Lantern Rite Festival, The Exquisite Night Chimes, will begin on 19th January 2023 and conclude 18 days later on the 6th February<\/strong>. To participate in this event, players must at least have reached Adventure Rank 28 or above, which will give you access to the event via the “Quick Start” on the event page. 
HoYoverse, however, does recommend that players complete the Archon quest “The Crane Returns On The Wind” and Yelan’s story quest “Umbrabilis Orchis Chapter: Act I: first to get the best experience from the event. So we recommend doing that first to ensure you get the best out of this amazing event. <\/p>\n
What Is The Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Festival?<\/h2>\n

The Genshin Impact Lantern Rite event is an annual in-game celebration during the Chinese New Year. Being the flagship event for the game, the 3.4 update’s version of this festival, “The Exquisite Night Chimes,” will see fellow Liyue friends and traveling acquaintances as you may expect a surprise appearance from one from a faraway land.<\/p>\n
Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Festival – Event Themes<\/h2>\n
The festival event includes four brand new gameplay experiences, called Event Themes that will each feature their styles of gameplay and rewards. These four themes are “Radiant Sparks,” “Paper Theatre,” “Vigilance at Sea” and “Behind the Scenes”. So let’s take a look at each theme below to get a good grasp of what they’re all about. <\/p>\n
Lantern Rite Festival – Paper Theatre<\/h3>\n
In this gameplay mode, you will have to help an actor in a paper theatre named Huanguang navigate to a set destination on stage successfully. You’ll do this by swapping his position with the traps and obstacles ahead of him to clear the path and reach the end of the stage, be careful though if Hanguang touches an obstacle he will change directions and if he touches a trap the performance will fail. <\/p>\n

Lantern Rite Festival – Radiant Sparks<\/h3>\n
In this gameplay mode, you’ll be required to collect as many Challenge Coins as possible while completing special racing trials. You can use the Aegis of Sparks that you pick up during the race to dash forward and get more coins or use the Firework Fruits to get to high altitudes while collecting coins. <\/p>\n

Lantern Rite Festival – Vigilance at Sea<\/h3>\n
This event is a Waverider race challenge where you’ll be given a durability bar, and need to traverse one of three levels while collecting as many Challenge Coins as possible while avoiding obstacles that deplete your durability bar. Your durability bar will deplete when coming into contact with whirlpools, bombs, and other dangerous effects. <\/p>\n

There are two modes, one for co-op (Billowing Waves) and one for single-player (Tranquil Waters), when your durability runs out in co-op, you’ll enter a “Voyage-Observer” after which you’ll respawn back into the challenge. In single-player, you’ll simply be taken to the score calculation screen. <\/p>\n
Lantern Rite Festival – Behind the Scenes<\/h3>\n
A straightforward mode that has players head to a challenge area\/destination and defeat opponents out in the wilderness. The challenge is made more exciting by the fact that a shockwave is released every time you defeat an opponent that deals Pyro DMG to surrounding enemies. <\/p>\n

Genshin Impact 3.4 Lantern Rite Festival – Event Rewards<\/h2>\n
During the Lantern Rite event, players can choose from any 4-star Liyue character to receive for free. The choices for characters vary every year but have always remained characters from Liyue, which this year, Yaoyao is included to invite to your party for free.<\/p>\n

    Players will likely also be able to obtain additional rewards by completing sub-quests, such as those offered in the previous Lantern Rite events. This year’s event includes bonus rewards such as Primogems, Crown of Insight, Hero’s Wit, Mora, Enhancement Ores, and more. <\/p>\n
    These rewards will all be given to players when they complete any of the themed events we’ve mentioned above. So be sure to try your best when completing them as the rewards are definitely worth the effort. <\/p>\n
    Lastly, a daily login event, “May Fortune Find You,” will be available for the event’s duration. By login into the game, you can claim ten Intertwined Fates between 19th January and 3rd February 2023.<\/p>\n
