Want the perfect Diablo 3<\/a> pet to take you back to the Moo Moo Farm? Well, now you can, as there’s a way to get the Royal Calf pet in Diablo 3’s Darkening of Tristram event<\/a>. This, however, will take brave adventurers quite a lot of steps to complete.<\/p>\n

This guide outlines how you can get the Royal Calf<\/strong> (cow pet in the form of a tiny Hell Bovine) in Diablo 3, alongside how you can find the specific Wirt’s Leg<\/strong> item required during the Darkening of Tristram event, so let’s get started.<\/p>\n

Update on 15 May 2023:<\/strong> You will have to wait until the next Darkening of Tristram event to get the Royal Calf cow pet in Diablo 3.<\/pre>\n<\/p>\n
What is The Royal Calf Diablo 3 Cow Pet?<\/h2>\n
The Royal Calf in Diablo 3 is a pet that you can equip. Once equipt, it will pick up gold for your character. A lore description of this awesome cow pet reads:<\/p>\n

The Royal Calf can only be acquired during the Darkening of Tristram event in Diablo 3. Since 2017, it has run each year from 1st to 31st January, celebrating the original Diablo in glorious RetroVision.<\/p>\n
How To Get Wirt’s Leg in Diablo 3 Darkening of Tristram<\/h2>\n

You need to be in Adventure Mode and head to Old Tristram, then South to the portal, which takes you to the Darkening of Tristram event. To get the Royal Calf, follow the steps below to get Wirt’s Leg during the Darkening of Tristram event.<\/p>\n

  • Once you are inside the cathedral, slay enemies and move downwards until you reach Level 9, the first Caves level.<\/li>\n
  • Inside the Caves level (randomly generated), you will find the Black Mushroom<\/strong> and interact with it to obtain the Rotten Mushroom<\/strong>. This will activate a hidden quest.<\/li>\n
  • Head back to town and interact with Adria’s Cauldron to get Witch’s Brew<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • With Witch’s Brew in hand, follow the hidden Diablo 3 quest further by taking it to the corpse of Farnham in town to get the Drunkard’s Debt<\/strong> item.<\/li>\n
  • Now take the Drunkard’s Debt item to the corpse of Tristram’s innkeeper, Ogden, to get the Garda’s Letter<\/strong> item.<\/li>\n
  • You will need to now take Garda’s Letter to the corpse of Pepin, Tristram’s healer, to get the Healer’s Prescription<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Last but not least, take the Healer’s Prescription to Griswold to get Wirt’s Leg during Diablo 3’s Darkening of Tristram event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    With Wirt’s Leg in hand, you can follow the steps below to finally get the Royal Calf cow pet in Diablo 3. Remember, this needs to be done during the annual Darkening of Tristram event.<\/p>\n

    • First off, salvage the Wirt’s Leg item to receive Map of the Stars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Use the item to open it, revealing the “2-1-3<\/strong>” sequence.<\/li>\n
    • Head to Adria’s Hut in the Darkening of Tristram event area.<\/li>\n
    • Here, you will spot some cow corpses. <\/li>\n
    • Click on the cow corpses in the sequence revealed by the Map of the Stars (Middle, Left, Right<\/strong>).<\/li>\n
    • This will open the Abandoned Farmstead<\/strong> entrance to the right of Adria’s Hut.<\/li>\n
    • Enter the area and loot Wirt’s Stash right in the middle.<\/li>\n
