As popular as Fortnite<\/a> is, the popular battle royale is far from impervious to bugs, errors, and glitches alike. One recent error players have raised concerns about is the “Checking Epic Services Queue” that appears for console and PC players whenever players are trying to log in to the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

So in this guide, we’ll take a look at the possible fixes that players can try to resolve this error, as well as what the developers have said in response to players raising this issue with them. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fortnite “Checking Epic Services Queue” Error<\/span><\/h2>\n

The “Checking Epic Services Queue” error is an issue where players are trying to load into a game and the message “Checking Epic Services Queue” appears on the screen and stays there indefinitely. This isn’t an error message itself, rather some issue is causing the game to freeze while loading in and locking players out. <\/span><\/p>\n

This error occurs for both console and PC players and doesn’t appear to be platform specific. Rather it appears that this issue stems from Epic Games rolling out any patch updates or when there’s a spike in traffic to the game. <\/span><\/p>\n

Given that there’s been a recent patch to fix the “Infinite Hammer Jump glitch,” among other things, this is likely the culprit, though that is just speculation at this point. For now, there isn’t much that players can do to resolve this, as it’s a server issue, but below we’ve listed a few things you can try.<\/span><\/p>\n

How To Fix “Checking Epic Services Queue” in Fortnite<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since its a server issue, the option you have are limited, but there are a few things you can try, which we’ve listed below: <\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Check to see if your internet is operational. If it isn’t, you can try resetting your modem. And if you’re still having connection issues after this, you should contact your internet service provider.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. If you’ve checked your internet connection but are still having trouble playing Fortnite, close the application on your console or simply quit the game if you’re on a PC and restart the game.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Lastly, you can try restarting your console or PC and try to log into Fortnite again. You’ll be able to play if the problem was caused by you in some way.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you continue to see the “Checking Epic Services Queue” message for more than 20 seconds after trying these fixes, you should check Fortnite and Epic’s social accounts<\/a> to see if there is an identified server issue that is currently preventing you from playing.
