Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake will include Albert Wesker, <\/strong>one of the franchise’s most iconic villains, according to a recently released IMDB cast list<\/a>. Long-time Resident Evil franchise fans will be excited to see the fan-favorite character return to the games in the remake.<\/p>\n

Update 13 March 2023<\/strong> - The Resident Evil 4 remake's release is just around the corner, but we haven't heard any more info about how Albert Wesker might be involved. Stay tuned!<\/pre>\n

It’s unknown in what capacity Wesker will return in Resident Evil 4 remake. In the original Resident Evil 4 game, Wesker is only a playable character in the Mercenaries mode. <\/strong>The Mercenaries mode is an arcade-style minigame allowing players to take on the roles of Wesker or HUNK. It’s possible that we could see the Mercenaries mode return in the Resident Evil 4 remake, especially considering developers have said that no content will be cut.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, though, it’s possible that we could see Wesker return for a bigger role in the remake. After all, it’s not unheard of for Capcom to make major changes to the plot in Resident Evil remakes, as was the case with the Resident Evil 3 remake. It’s not hard to imagine a world in which Wesker plays a bigger and more direct role in the story in the 2023 release.<\/p>\n
Connor Fogarty will voice Wesker in the Resident Evil 4 remake, according to the cast list. Fogarty also voices Albert Wesker in Dead by Daylight<\/a>, in which the infamous villain is a playable killer<\/a>.  Wesker has been voiced by a wide range of voice actors over the years; in the original Resident Evil 4, Richard Waugh took on the role.<\/p>\n

The news that the Resident Evil 4 remake will include Albert Wesker is not the only information Resident Evil fans have heard from Capcom recently about the game. The game’s developers went into detail about the remake’s progress in an interview earlier this month<\/a>, mentioning that development is “in its final spurt” and the game is on track for its planned March 23, 2023 release.<\/p>\n
In other Resident Evil franchise news, Capcom announced that despite remaking several mainline Resident Evil titles, including 2, 3, and 4, the studio is not planning to create a Resident Evil: Veronica remake any time in the near future<\/a>.
