Skull and Bones, the highly-anticipated pirate-themed video game from Ubisoft, has been hit with yet another delay. The game, which was originally scheduled to arrive in 2018, has had its release pushed back multiple times (seven times, to be exact), with the project also being rebooted in 2020. As a result, many fans are starting to lose hope that the game will ever see the light of day.

Earlier this week, in an official press release, Ubisoft announced that the game would miss its most recently announced release date of 9 March 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC platforms. Accordingly, the gaming behemoth stated that the game would instead be released “early” in its next fiscal year, pushing Skull and Bones’ release date to between April and March 2024.

In a follow-up statement published via Twitter on 12 January 2023, Ubisoft expanded by writing: “Our determination and focus remain the same – offer the best in-game experience possible to our players from Day 1. This extra time will help us in providing further polish and balancing to our game experience, following your feedback from previous tests.” The company added, “Additional information regarding [its] new release date and upcoming test phases will be shared […] very soon.”
