The Trickster<\/a> is a ranged killer in Dead by Daylight, meaning that he can use his knives to down you from afar if you’re not careful. Ranged killers like The Huntress <\/a>and The Trickster require survivors to think out of the box to avoid their attacks, but it is more than possible to win against The Trickster if you know how to take on this killer.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re a new player or a veteran, playing against The Trickster can pose some unique challenges. Fret not, though, as we’re here to help with this guide on how to counter The Trickster in Dead by Daylight.<\/p>\n

Don’t Run In A Straight Line Against The Trickster in DBD<\/h2>\n

The Trickster’s knives have recoil, meaning it is often somewhat hard for even the most experienced players to hit every knife they throw – unless, that is, you run in a straight line. If you run straight forward, it will be easy for The Trickster to throw multiple knives at you at once – so avoid running in a straight line at all costs. <\/strong>Swerve, spin around, and maneuver around obstacles to prevent potential injury.<\/p>\n

Use Walls And Other Obstacles To Avoid The Trickster’s Knives<\/h2>\n

It’s easy for The Trickster to hit you with his knives if you’re out in the open, so use any obstacles you can to avoid getting hit by them. <\/strong>Long walls and other long loops are a great way to not only gain distance on the killer but also help break the line of sight, meaning he won’t be able to use his primary ability to hit you.<\/p>\n

Don’t Abuse Pallets Against The Trickster to Counter in DBD<\/h2>\n

Note that this killer can easily hit you over pallets<\/strong>, unlike most other killers, due to his ranged knives. This means that while using obstacles to avoid the killer’s attacks is more important against The Trickster than ever, you’ll want to make sure those obstacles aren’t pallets! His knives will fly right over them, injuring you if you’re standing on the other side. Avoid dropping pallets unless you know you can stun The Trickster or use them to gain distance since they won’t provide you much protection if the killer is standing right on the other side with his knives readied. *<\/p>\n
