When it comes to shooter games, currently all the rage is Riot’s newest competitive class-based tactical shooter, Valorant. Mostly because of enormous Twitch numbers and the start of the Beta, which everyone wants access<\/a> to.<\/p>\n

But, almost quietly, CS:GO is breaking records one by one each week. It all started with a million players – a milestone surpassed a few weeks ago.<\/a><\/p>\n

And, according to data from Steam Database<\/a>, now CS:GO sets a new record for the most concurrent players on Steam, beating the record set by Dota 2 along the way.  At the time of writing this article, 1,301,348 are playing CS:GO. This is a few thousand more than the Dota 2 record, set in March 2016, which was 1,295,114 concurrent players.<\/p>\n

To understand how popular are Valve’s competitive titles, next on this list are Fallout 4, which peaked at 472,962, and  GTA V, one of the most popular games of all time, whith the record of 364,548 people playing the game at the same time.<\/p>\n

You are probably thinking now: “Well, is CS:GO now holding the record for most concurrent players on Steam of all-time?”<\/p>\n

The answer is no. That title belongs to PUBG, with a number so big, it is almost unfathomable: 3,257,248 concurrent players at its peak, in January 2018. This only goes to say how unbelievably popular PUBG was (and still is), and how influential this game was for the gaming industry in the last couple of years, spawning millions of clones that tried to repeat its success, including world-wide popular games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone, etc<\/p>\n

PUBG was so popular that even their Test Server is at the Top 10 list of most concurrent players on Steam. It will be a long time before some new game manages to beat this record, if ever.<\/p>\n
