After the recent announcement from Respawn Entertainment that Apex Legends Mobile would be sunset<\/a> (discontinued) on the 1st May 2023, many players are curious to know whether they can get a refund for their online purchases. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you’re one of these many players, then this is the article for you. Below, we’ll be discussing whether or not you can get a refund for your purchased items in Apex Legends Mobile. <\/span><\/p>\n

Can You Get a Refund for Your Apex Legends Mobile Purchases?<\/span><\/h2>\n

To get straight to the answer, no, players who purchased items and spent money in Apex Legends Mobile won’t be eligible for a refund now that the game is shutting down. This comes as a disappointment to many players and a frustrating turn of events to many who have purchased coins, skins, and cosmetics for a game that has only been out for less than a year and is now being truncated.<\/span><\/p>\n

A statement from the developers in their official blog post that covers the entire shutdown states “We will not be providing refunds for real money purchases, per the terms of the EA User Agreement. For any other refund requests, please contact the third-party platform you purchased game content from, e.g. the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Many players are expressing their anger toward the company for their business decision to not issue refunds, and are comparing it to the recent battle royale Rumbleverse<\/a> being shut down less than six months after its release. However, Epic Games, the Rumbleverse’s <\/span>publisher will be issuing refunds for the game purchases, making fans even more upset that EA couldn’t handle the shutdown of Apex Legends Mobile similarly. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fans are also upset with EA for the removal of two exclusive characters, Rhapsody and Fade, who will, like their purchases, be lost forever once the game shuts down. (Picture: Respawn Entertainment)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This is also compounded by the fact that the mobile-exclusive characters Rhapsody and Fade will likely be vanishing into the digital ether with the shutdown of the game. All this has fans frustrated and disappointed in EA’s handling of this entire situation, with the no refund policy putting a sour taste in the mouth of all mobile players, who have even taken to calling the entire ordeal a “scam” and vocally reprimanding EA for their choices. <\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, this situation isn’t going to sit well for Apex Legends players on all platforms and while we hope EA does something to smooth this all over, for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
