DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 will be held in four regions, Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania. All four tournaments will be played entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
The tournaments feature top teams from each region, with a combined total of 32 teams spread across the four regions. Europe is the biggest region, with 16 teams after some great qualifier matches recently took place.<\/p>\n
Not all of the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 tournaments will take place on the same dates, with Asia, as well as Oceania, kicking off after the completion of the Europe and North America group stages.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 is split into four tournaments, there will be four prize pools. The total prize pool is $300,000, with each region getting a slice of the pie. The prize pools depend on how many teams participate, which is why Europe gets the lion’s share of the total prize pool, $160,000.<\/p>\n The exact prize distribution is currently unknown. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 tournament format is a bit different depending on the region. Europe and North America follow the same format, while Asia and Oceania won’t have a group stage, but instead, go straight into the playoffs, due to a small number of teams competing.<\/p>\n Europe and North America format:<\/strong><\/p>\n The group stage for both Europe, and North America tournaments, will follow a round-robin format. All matches in the group stages are best-of-three, with the winning team of each group advancing to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The second and third-place teams advance to the lower-bracket of the playoffs, while the bottom team in each group gets eliminated.<\/p>\n The playoffs in Europe, as well as North America, will follow a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three, except for the grand final, which is best-of-five. A one map advantage will be given to the team which made their way through the upper bracket.<\/p>\n Asia and Oceania format:<\/strong><\/p>\n For the Asia and Oceania tournaments, there will only be a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three, with the exception of the grand final, which is best-of-five. In the grand final, there will be a one map advantage to the team who made it through the upper bracket.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 running from 19th May to 14th June, there’s a lot of CS:GO esports action to look forward to. Not all tournaments start at the same time.
