Not only do we have confirmation that the Summer Games event is coming back, we even know that it is coming back in Season 5. It brings a new event called <strong>Winston&#8217;s Beach Volleyball<\/strong> and it will also have the popular<strong> Lucio Ball <\/strong>as well.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1gritos234\"><strong>When Does Overwatch 2 Summer Games Start?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to the most recent roadmap created by Blizzard to give us an idea of what 2023 will look like, we know exactly when the Summer Games event will be returning to Overwatch 2. Thankfully, we do not have to wait too long for the Summer Games event. The<strong> Summer Games Event has returned as of Season 5 of Overwatch 2 on July 11th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the most recent roadmap for Overwatch 2, the two Summer Games game modes will become playable on July 11th. The main reason for that is in the original Summer Games event introduced the <strong>Lucio Ball<\/strong> game mode. Lucio Ball is a game mode where everyone plays as Lucio and it is a game of soccer. Everyone is trying to push their ball into the goal to score points. It became so popular that there was even ranked Lucio Ball at some point. A new game mode called <strong>Winston&#8217;s Beach Volleyball<\/strong> will also be available to play. Unlike Lucio Ball, it does not seem like players have to play as Winston for this game mode. We will have to wait and see if Winston&#8217;s Beach Volleyball will return as Lucio Ball does. On top of that, there are usually a lot of <strong>summer-themed skins<\/strong> that become available during the Summer Games event as well. So the Summer Games event is a great time for players to enjoy Lucio Ball and get new skins. This mode essentially plays like Rocket League, but with Lucio as the main character instead of rocket-propelled cars. While the game mode has remained mostly unchanged since Overwatch&#8217;s inception, a new version called Lucioball Remix was introduced in 2020. The developers have unveiled a new &#8220;tropical-themed&#8221; skin for Doomfist, which players can acquire through the Summer Games event.
