Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been wondering when a metro system will come to the game since the title’s release, but developers have recently stated that the Night City metro system isn’t in their plans any time soon and will not be included in the Phantom Liberty update.

The rumors started when the metro system was shown in early trailers for the game, but the feature was removed before the title was released; just a few months ago, those rumors were brought up again by a CD Projekt Red employee.

During a recent panel about worldbuilding in modern games, CD Projekt Red artist Vladimír Vilimovský spoke about the Cyberpunk 2077 metro system. According to the panel’s YouTube video‘s subtitles, Vilimovsky stated that a metro system would soon “be available to everyone” in Cyberpunk 2077 following the 1.7 patch and Phantom Liberty Update.

This led many fans to believe that the Night City metro system, would, in fact, be coming to the game in the next update.

Cyberpunk Global Community Manager Marcin Momot, though, took to Twitter to clarify that the team still “did not plan on adding [the metro system]” in the future.
