Update:<\/strong> IGN has confirmed<\/a> that E3 2023 has been canceled.<\/pre>\n<\/p>\n
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has confirmed via email to some publications including IGN, that E3 “remains a beloved event and brand” and that the 2023 version “simply did not garner the sustained interest necessary to execute it in a way that would showcase the size, strength, and impact of our industry.” <\/p>\n

E3<\/strong> was known to be the biggest gaming event in the entire world. In the past, the biggest announcements for video games were presented at E3, which made people all over the world watch it. With the return of E3,<\/a> people all over the world are excited to see what this event will bring and what will be announced here.<\/p>\n
However, things do not seem to be going in a positive way for E3. There are many companies like Nintendo<\/a> that said they are not going to attend E3 this year. Nintendo is not the only company that has backed out of E3 as well. With so many companies backing out of E3, will E3 2023 get canceled this year<\/strong>?<\/p>\n
Why Would E3 Be Canceled? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, companies all over the world attended E3<\/a> so they can make a show for the biggest games they are developing. Publishers like Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox<\/strong> had very large shows and made their games available to play on the show floor of E3. In recent months, all three have backed out of attending E3.<\/p>\n
This means that there is no show from them, and their games will not be on the show floor. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all of their shows went digital,<\/strong> and it seems like they want to continue to do so. After all, it is likely a lot cheaper to do a digital show on their own time rather than having to go to E3.<\/p>\n
Will E3 Be Cancelled?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In reality, E3 will probably not be canceled<\/strong>. E3 seems like they are still actively getting partners for the show and events planned for the convention. Although the biggest three gaming companies are no longer attending E3, that does not mean that everyone is backing out of E3 as of this writing.<\/p>\n
But it will definitely be a much smaller show than what we are used to for E3. That is because E3 will be split between business days and consumer days<\/strong>. Business days are days when people actively involved with the gaming industry can attend, and consumer days are like how old E3 days are when the public could attend. So despite the split of days that are happening, E3 is still selling tickets for the consumer days and giving out passes for business days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
