It is a Mineral that can be sold for 2000g (or used for a variety of other great purposes).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj19\">Prismatic Shard Uses<\/h3>\n<p>Prismatic Shards aren&#8217;t just extremely rare items that you can use to show off; instead, they&#8217;re also one of the most useful items in the game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You can turn a Prismatic Shard into a Galaxy Sword, <\/strong>which is the best weapon available, and you can also use it to unlock other great tools like the <strong>Galaxy Hammer and Galaxy Dagger!<\/strong> Just go to the Calico Desert and bring the Prismatic Shard to the strange columns, holding it over your head.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll immediately receive the Galaxy Sword. (Picture: ConcernedApe)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There are multiple methods for getting Prismatic Shards in Stardew Valley, though some of them are more reliable than others.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj2b\">Mine Mystic Stones<\/h3>\n<p>If you manage to descend as far as the 100th level of the mines, you&#8217;ll have a chance of coming across Mystic Stones. Mystic Stones might be fairly rare, but they have a high chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard in return. Mine a Mystic Stone, and you&#8217;ll have a 25% chance of earning yourself a single Prismatic Shard.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj2c\">Go Fishing<\/h3>\n<p>Fish up a Fishing Treasure Chest, and you&#8217;ll have a &asymp;0.014% chance to get a Prismatic Shard inside when you open it up. While this is an extremely rare drop, it&#8217;s still worthwhile to mention that it&#8217;s possible to get Shards through fishing.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj2d\">Defeat Monsters<\/h3>\n<p>A somewhat more reliable way to earn Prismatic Shards is to defeat monsters in the mines. Serpents and Mummies offer the greatest chance at 0.1%. There is a 0.05% Prismatic Shard drop chance from Shadow Brutes and Shadow Shamans.<\/p>\n<p>The chance gets even greater as you get deeper into the mines; once you reach the deepest level, every single Monster you defeat has a 0.05% chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj2e\">Keep Rainbow Trout<\/h3>\n<p>Players can keep Rainbow Trout in their Fish Ponds in return for a small chance of earning a Prismatic Shard. You&#8217;ll need to keep at least nine Rainbow Trout in a single Fish Pond for this to work. Once you have nine of them, you have a 0.09% daily chance of getting a Prismatic Shard from the pond.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gu8ifjj2f\">Mine Irdium Nodes and Omni Geodes<\/h3>\n<p>Iridium Nodes can be found in the Skull Cavern, Quarry and Volcano Dungeon, while Omni Geodes can only be found in the Mines; wherever you&#8217;re mining, though, you&#8217;ll have a chance of gaining a Prismatic Shard.<\/p>\n<p>Omni Geodes offer a 0.4% chance to get a Prismatic Shard, while Iridium Nodes offer a greater 4% chance.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for how to get Prismatic Shards in Stardew Valley; these items might be extremely rare, but there are various methods to collect them, so you can get your hands on one or several if you&#8217;re a really determined player.
