After the cancellation of E3<\/a>, it seemed like 2020’s traditional gaming blowout in June might be quieter than usual – but now it seems it’s set to span a whole summer. <\/p>\n

Described as an “industry-wide celebration of video games”, Summer Game Fest promises to bring “breaking news, in-game events and free playable content” from a variety of gaming companies from May till August 2020. <\/p>\n

Companies involved include Bethesda, Blizzard Entertainment, CD Projekt Red, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Riot, Sony and Square Enix. <\/p>\n

The all-digital events included in Summer Game Fest include Steam Game Festival on 9-14th June, and an upcoming playable game festival from Microsoft too in the summer offering free demos and trials for a limited time.<\/p>\n

Geoff Keighley, who also spearheads the Game Awards annually, is the person curating Summer Game Fest.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Geoff said: “In these uncertain and challenging times, it’s more important than ever that video games serve as a common and virtual connection point between us all.<\/p>\n
