One of the most popular features of the original Warzone was the addition of Rebirth Island<\/a>, a small-scale map that encouraged close-quarters play amidst fast-paced action. The map supported up 40 players and took place on a reimagined Alcatraz from the Blackout mode from Black Ops 4. <\/p>\n

During Warzone Season 2 Reloaded<\/a>, Rebirth Island received a major update which saw improvements to its POIs and visuals. The updates went down a treat, and Rebirth Island remained a key element of Warzone. Fast-forward to November 2022 and the launch of Warzone 2<\/a>, players were left disappointed and confused to learn that Rebirth Island would not be making its way to the battle royale sequel. At least, not at launch.<\/p>\n

Activision did eventually add in a Resurgence map in the form of Ashika Island, though the new map is much larger than Rebirth and features vastly different POIs. But despite its addition, players still were left asking when, and if, Rebirth Island would be making its way into Warzone 2.<\/p>\n

A number of leaks emerged last year hinting at the arrival of Rebirth alongside the return of Resurgence, though this ended up becoming Ashika Island. Now, some new leaks have discovered some references to Rebirth Island, specifically, alongside a night-time mode for Al Mazrah.<\/p>\n

When Is Rebirth Island Coming to Warzone 2?<\/h2>\n

Call of Duty steamer ModernWarzone took to Twitter to reveal that dataminers had “found references to Rebirth Island and a night time version of Al Mazrah in the files for Modern Warfare II”.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, Activision has not yet officially announced the arrival of Rebirth Island. The streamer also suggested that the data could point to the map being for Warzone Mobile rather than Warzone 2. The night time mode for Al Mazrah seems almost certain to be for Warzone 2, however. <\/p>\n

Various information on Warzone Mobile has been revealed, despite not launching in the US or UK just yet. For starters, its core map will be Verdansk like the original Warzone, so it seems logical that Warzone’s Rebirth Island could be making its way to the mobile title, too. <\/p>\n

It’s safe to say that the demand for Rebirth in Warzone 2 is certainly there, but it remains to be seen whether Activision will heed the call. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
