As ARPG fans rush into the world of Sanctuary<\/a> to slay the followers of Lilith<\/a> in Diablo 4<\/a>, they will eventually reach level 50 and complete the story<\/a>. At this point, item farming is just starting as endgame systems unlock. One of these endgame activities is the bounty system, Diablo 4’s Tree of Whispers.<\/p>\n

This guide explains everything you need to know about unlocking the Tree of Whispers in Diablo 4, its location, the wealth of rewards in the form of Caches, and the Grim Favor quests you can complete, so let’s get started.<\/p>\n

Unlock Tree of Whispers in Diablo 4<\/h2>\n

Before unlocking the Tree of Whispers bounty system in Diablo 4, you must complete the campaign. We spent about 25 hours with a powerful Ice Sorcerer build<\/a>, one-shotting most elite packs to finish it at this rate.<\/p>\n

Once you’ve completed the story, you should be level 50. At this point, you will receive a priority quest called Whispers of the Dead. You are tasked with collecting 10 Grim Favors (more on that later). Once completed, the Tree of Whispers bounty system is unlocked.<\/p>\n

With an eerie purple mist, heads, and a creepy look, the Tree of Whispers is impossible to miss once you get to its location. The image above showcases the exact location of the Tree of Whispers in Diablo 4’s Hawezar region in the Writhing Mire zone.<\/p>\n

As you can see, there’s a waypoint directly to the left, so remember to activate that for 20 Renown with Hawezar and a fast way back to the Tree of Whispers so you can turn in Grim Favors and earn rewards.<\/p>\n

To get rewards in the form of Caches from the Tree of Whispers, we had to complete several Grim Favors. To be more specific, Grim Favors are bounty-type quests where you either complete a dungeon, clear a Cellar or slay different enemy types or a specific elite in Sanctuary. <\/p>\n

There are timers on all Tree of Whispers Grim Favors, and new ones keep spawning as others expire. They are marked with light red, medium red, or dark red, depending on how many Grim Favors you get for completing them. For example, killing the Abomination in the Field of Hatred grants you five Grim Favors, while completing a dungeon grants you three, and a world activity such as killing specific enemies gets you one Grim Favor.<\/p>\n

The bar on your map will fill until you reach 10 Grim Favors from completing these quests. Once completed, Diablo 4 players should head back to the Tree of Whispers and get their reward in the form of a Cache. You can pick one of three random Caches as a reward.<\/p>\n

    You can select the Cache type you want as a reward from the Tree of Whispers in Diablo 4 every time you finish enough quests to earn 10 Grim Favors. You will also get a tonne of XP, resources, various crafting materials, and Nightmare Sigils.<\/p>\n
