The first time a new Diablo 4<\/a> player looks at the intricate, expansive Paragon Board system might feel daunting. At least, that’s how we felt, and not even praising the Mother of Sanctuary, Lilith<\/a>, helped one bit. What did help, however, was proper research.<\/p>\n

Now that we completely understand Diablo 4’s Paragon Board system, we’ve got you covered, with explanations of each tile\/node type, how you can unlock the system, how Glyphs\/Sockets work, and even a section on Paragon Board rotations, so let’s get started.<\/p>\n

How To Unlock Paragon Board in Diablo 4 & Points Cap<\/h2>\n

You don’t have to complete Diablo 4’s story to unlock the Paragon Board system. However, you will probably have completed it by the time you reach level 50<\/a>, the requirement to unlock this system. <\/p>\n
From here, you will stop earning skill points and start earning Paragon Points. Players can unlock four Paragon Points per level, one for each 1\/4 of a level. The max level in Diablo 4 is 100, but the max Paragon Points cap is 220. This is because if you max out Renown with each of the five regions in Sanctuary, you get an additional +4 Paragon Points.<\/p>\n
Diablo 4 Paragon Board Tiles\/Nodes Types<\/h2>\n

Diablo 4’s Paragon Board has Tiles\/Nodes of four rarities: Normal, Magic, Rare, and Legendary. Below, you will learn what to expect from each of these color-coded tile types:<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Normal Tiles:<\/strong> These Paragon Board tiles offer a stat bonus to your character, either Strength, Willpower, Intelligence, or Dexterity.<\/li>\n
  • Magic Tiles:<\/strong> Magic nodes are more meaningful and diverse. You can get +7 to base stats of your choosing, or other more specific stats, such as a 5% Physical Damage increase, 50+ Armor, and more.<\/li>\n
  • Rare Tiles:<\/strong> With Rare Tiles, the Paragon Board gets more interesting, with powerful boosts. For example, you might get Cold Resistance, and a Lucky Hit Chance increase on a Rare Node. Further, if base stats requirements are met, additional power is unlocked. In this example, you will see another +12 Cold Resistance on a Sorcerer if the requirement of 330 Intelligence is met.<\/li>\n
  • Legendary Tiles: <\/strong>There is only one Legendary Tile per Paragon Board in Diablo 4, generally located close to the center. These nodes provide a new Legendary Power for your character. For example, with our Ice Sorcerer build, the Legendary Icefall Node grants 15% of your maximum life as a Barrier after killing a Frozen Enemy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    It is important to note that there are no Legendary Tiles\/Nodes on the first Paragon Board in Diablo 4. <\/p>\n
    Paragon Board Glyphs & Sockets in Diablo 4<\/h2>\n

    There are special Paragon Board Socket Nodes in Diablo 4, one per board. These Socket Nodes, as the name might suggest, allow you to add a Glyph. Glyphs can be found in the world of Sanctuary, and from our experience, drops are plentiful in events on Nightmare (World Tier 3) difficulty and above. We managed to, for example, get six (6) Glyph drops in one Nightmare Dungeon.<\/p>\n
    Socketting a Glyph into this special Paragon Board Node will give you a powerful, gameplay-altering mechanic. For example, we got Unleash with our Ice Sorcerer. This Glyph activates after spending 50 Mana and provides your character with 6.7% increased damage and 6.7% increased mana generation for three (3) seconds. It can also be upgraded for higher percentage effects.<\/p>\n
    Glyphs in Diablo 4, when socketed into a Paragon Board, also provide players with a bonus if the requirements are met. In the case of the Unleash example, the bonus is 50% to all Magic Node attributes in range of the Glyph, with the requirement being 40 Intelligence on the Paragon Board in range of the Glyph.<\/p>\n
    How To Rotate Diablo 4’s Paragon Board<\/h2>\n
    Once you’ve reached your first Gate Node, you can unlock more Paragon Boards for your character. After picking a board, players can rotate it, as there are four possible Gate Nodes to attach to your current board. <\/p>\n
    It is as simple as that. Pick a board and preview it. If you are happy, rotate it so you can get to the Legendary Node you want in the fastest way possible, or forge a path to the Socket node first if you have a shiny Glyph you would like to try. <\/p>\n
