Khanduras, whereas Diablo 4 takes place on the Eastern continent.

Because of this, the developers have implemented Tristram as a location to visit via teleportation during a quest in the game called “Shroud of the Horadrim.” Once you reach mid-way through the quest, you’ll meet a Bloodied Wolf standing next to a portal, who will tell you that you’re stuck in an illusion, and to escape, you’ll need to follow it.

You will visit Tristram during the Shroud of Horadrim quest in Diablo 4. (Picture: Blizzard)

This will lead you into the Vision of Tristram, which according to the Wolf, is a safe spot where no one will harm you. Follow him in and speak with him. He’ll explain that he was the one who saved you in the mountains at the very beginning.

He wants to help you because he also wants to stop Lilith, but he believes that can’t be accomplished by following the Horadrim. To understand more, follow him to the Living Gate and open it.

As you make your way to the Living Gate, you will witness the ruins of Tristram. (Picture: Blizzard)

He’ll then lead you to another portal; all the while, you will note that the town has been destroyed and is in smoldering ruins, a fate we know the town experiences thanks to the events of Diablo 2. Speak with him again, and he’ll say that a day will come when the Horadrim will mess up, and he doesn’t want you to be there when it happens.

You can then continue to speak to the wolf by interacting with its dialogue prompts, and it will explain that you’re in a town called Tristram and that the Horadrim imprisoned Diablo beneath the earth and then built this town nearby. He then chuckles as he states that we can see how that plan turned out for them.

Once you reach the final portal to leave Tristram, the Wolf will tell you what happened to the town, and his allegiances for the upcoming conflict with Lilith. (Picture: Blizzard)

Once done, you can head through the portal to continue the quest, leaving the tragic memory of Tristram behind you. So there you have it, a brief look at how players will be interacting with the town of Tristram in Diablo 4.

Be sure to check back here soon as we cover more of the quests and events that will release in Diablo 4, and who knows; we may even get to visit the town of Tristram once again, given its significance.
