{"id":48841,"date":"2023-06-16T12:58:39","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T12:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/microsoft-no-longer-making-xbox-one-games"},"modified":"2024-07-19T11:15:33","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T11:15:33","slug":"microsoft-no-longer-making-xbox-one-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/microsoft-no-longer-making-xbox-one-games","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft No Longer Making Xbox One Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/starfield\/will-run-at-30fps-on-xbox-series-x-and-xbox-series-s\">Xbox <\/a>has officially announced that they are no longer developing games native for the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We&#8217;ve moved onto Gen 9&#8221;<\/em> Booty stated during an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/06\/15\/xbox-game-studios-matt-booty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Booty also confirmed that no internal studios are working on any games that will run natively on Xbox One. The only studios that are working on games that run on Xbox One are studios that are working on ongoing games such as Minecraft, which will continue to get support past other games due to the popularity of the title. Booty also pointed out that you can play Gen 9 games on Xbox One by using the Xbox Cloud Streaming service, stating that:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>That&#8217;s how we&#8217;re going to maintain support.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This news comes later than usual, as both Sony and Microsoft have extended their support for past-generation consoles due to the sheer popularity of the devices. It seems however that that period is over for internal teams, with Sony announcing and releasing more and more PlayStation 5 exclusive titles, and Microsoft confirming that all games shown off at the recent Xbox Bethesda Showcase are all titles that will only be released on the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Third-party development teams will continue to make games for generation 8 consoles, though it remains to be seen exactly how long for.
