As of May 2023, Obsidian Entertainment’s widely popular action RPG, Fallout: New Vegas, was finally made available on console and PC through the Epic Games Store<\/a>. The game, already available via Steam and Xbox Game Pass for PC, has built a massive modding community and was expected to grow for its Epic Games Store version.<\/p>\n

For PC players looking to begin their Fallout adventures utilizing mods, there is a slight issue regarding whether you can mod the game. If you want to install mods for the game via the Epic Games Store, we’ve explained in this guide if you can mod Fallout: New Vegas from the Epic Games Store.<\/p>\n

Is Modding Available For Fallout New Vegas Via Epic Games Store?<\/h2>\n

The short answer is no.<\/strong><\/span> According to a support FAQ page from Bethesda<\/a>, you cannot officially mod Fallout: New Vegas game version currently available through the Epic Games Store. This is because Fallout: New Vegas mods are not compatible with Epic Games Store, but it can still be achieved.<\/p>\n

However, a workaround to mitigate that issue is to install a mod to the install directory (C:Program FilesEpic Games). The mod in question is called “Epic Games Patcher at Fallout New Vegas,<\/a>” available from the popular modding site Nexus Mods.<\/p>\n

The mod will partially turn off Epic Games integration, which prevents you from unlocking various Achievements. According to the mod creators, they’re looking to restore this capability in a future patch update for this mod.<\/p>\n

As for how to install the Epic Games Patcher at Fallout New Vegas mod, players can locate the mod here and follow the steps provided below:<\/p>\n

  1. Download the mod file from Nexus Mod, unpack it to access the folder’s content, and look for a file named Patcher.exe.<\/li>\n
  2. Run the Patcher.exe file where a black console screen pops up, detailing its process log, which informs you that “any error has occurred.”<\/li>\n
  3. Let it run until it indicates that “Patching completed successfully,” for which you can close the window and start downloading and installing additional mods.<\/li>\n
  4. Launch Fallout: New Vegas from the Epic Games Store launcher or other supported mod manager except for nvse_loader.exe, which can be deleted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The mod’s page suggested installing the Viva New Vegas modding guid<\/a>e, which instructs players on how to successfully install other mods for the game.
