Capcom<\/a> has stated that they’re looking into making new games in the Mega Man franchise and are currently workshopping ideas. <\/p>\n

In a recent shareholder’s meeting, Capcom spoke about the franchise, stating that it’s ‘one of Capcom’s historic franchises’ and ‘loved by fans’. The last game released in the Mega Man franchise that wasn’t a remaster or a collection of other games was Mega Man 11, which launched in 2018, meaning that it’s been a full five years since the last time we saw that tiny blue man. <\/p>\n

During the shareholder’s meeting, Capcom also stated:<\/p>\n

“We are considering how to approach the production of new entries in the series, which requires numerous factors, including the development of a solid concept, ideas, and gameplay, etc”<\/em><\/p>\n

Part of the issue that Capcom is likely facing is the fact that the creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, left the studio in 2010 to work on his own projects, such as the poorly received Mega Man successor Mighty No 9. In recent years the only games that Mega Man has had have all been collections of games, such as the Mega Man Battle Network collections which remastered the Mega Man Battle Network titles in a new visual style. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
