“With athletic training and competitions currently postponed due to COVID-19, Special Olympics is looking for new ways to connect, compete, and just have fun,” says the Special Olympics announcement<\/a>. <\/p>\n “Enveloping this event will be stories of the athletes themselves—allowing a broad fanbase to know who they are, what they care about, how they are feeling—and cheer them on as they discover new community and excitement in playing Forza Motorsport 7. Eleven states will be represented in this year’s event with over 35 athletes participating.”<\/p>\n The tournament is scheduled for 30th <\/sup>May and will begin at 8 PM BST. The whole event will be broadcasted live and you can watch it on Mixer<\/a>, Xbox YouTube<\/a>, or Twitch<\/a>.<\/p>\n It will be also interesting to see a first-ever Special Olympics award ceremony in Minecraft, which will be a part of the event. During the COVID-19 outbreak, Minecraft became a safe place for many as a substitute for their cancelled real-life events, like Japanese online graduation ceremonies in Minecraft.<\/a><\/p>\n This is not the first time that Microsoft and Special Olympics are organising esports events.
