In this article, we explain what you can still do after your character meets its untimely demise on WoW Classic Hardcore servers, including how you can still communicate and achieve, so let’s get started.<\/p>\n

What Happens After Death in WoW Classic Hardcore<\/h2>\n

Yes, death is permanent. You only have one life, and if your character dies, even in a duel, it is gone for good according to the WoW Classic Hardcore rules. There are, however, some things left that you can do once your character dies on WoW Classic Hardcore, as we explain in the list below.<\/p>\n

  • Your character continues to exist in the game world as a ghost.<\/li>\n
  • You can communicate with in-game friends (people on your friends’ list).<\/li>\n
  • You can pass on Guild leadership if your character happens to own a guild.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Blizzard explains:<\/p>\n

    Ghosts cannot complete quests, speak to the living or otherwise do most of anything other than haunt their local graveyards—quietly, and ponder what went wrong in their last moments of life in Azeroth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    The developer also encourages players to try again, creating a new character and learning from the experience, so good luck!<\/p>\n

    Can I Play With a Dead WoW Classic Hardcore Character?<\/h2>\n

    You would think the answer to this question is a resounding “NO!” right? Well, not exactly. While you can’t continue your journey on the WoW Classic Hardcore servers, you can use a free Character Transfer to a non-hardcore Classic era server! Blizzard explains:<\/p>\n

    if you want to keep playing your recently departed character or make sure your currently living character doesn’t face a sudden mishap, you can utilize the Free Character Move service and move any character to a non-Hardcore Classic Era realm.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    At the time of writing, it is unclear if there is a limit to the amount of free character transfers you can get for this reason. There’s no way to transfer this same character back to a Hardcore realm after resurrecting in non-hardcore.<\/p>\n
