Escape from Tarkov is undergoing a wipe on the 10th of August 2023, introducing significant updates and substantial changes<\/a>. These include new weapons, a scav boss, and other modifications to the game. In recent months, players have found it challenging to unlock Lightkeeper due to the lengthy questline<\/a> needed to gain the merchant’s trust. Recognizing this, Battlestate Games has decided to revise the game mechanics to make unlocking the Lightkeeper more achievable.<\/p>\n

After the Escape from Tarkov pre-wipe event, players engaged in tasks that progressed the Lightkeeper narrative, drawing them closer to answers surrounding the TerraGroups trail questline. Many speculated a major Lightkeeper update this wipe. However, indications suggest it will either be during the mid-wipe or the December wipe, which is not too far away.<\/p>\n

\"Escape_from_tarkov_Zryachiy\"<\/p>\n

Many players know that unlocking Lightkeeper takes an abundance of time with very little reward. Yes, we get to speak and interact with a brief cutscene, although this doesn’t feel like the reward we should get for unlocking him. That said, players are desperate to see Lightkeeper in the merchant menu, selling us items, providing us with a plethora of quests, and further enriching the Escape from Tarkov storyline.<\/p>\n

Battlestate Games have mentioned they will develop Lightkeeper and integrate him into the merchant menus soon. However, little news has been released regarding the changes. It’s currently believed that a new questline will be required to unlock him, though many hope for a revision to the existing questline for easier access.<\/p>\n

The current process involves players commuting into Lighthouse, equipping the beacon, and walking across onto the Lighthouse island. But this is tedious; players want to unlock him and have him permanently in the menus, which is what will be expected to come within the next few months. It might benefit Battlestate Games to introduce missions earlier in the wipe cycle, encouraging players to unlock Lightkeeper similarly to Jaeger.<\/p>\n

This addition would not only offer players a valuable resource but also enrich the narrative depth of Escape from Tarkov. While the exact inventory Lightkeeper will offer is uncertain, it’s clear he’s a well-connected and guarded individual, hinting at his ability to procure rare items.<\/p>\n
