Yes, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a gacha game<\/strong> where you unlock new characters by pulling a banner. As seen in the first beta, the banner pulls happen in the Velvet Room, where you can also manage your Personas and fuse new Personas. <\/p>\n

According to the director, the gacha characters are called “Kaidoru,” a fusion of the terms Kaito (Phantom Thief) and Idol (Aidoru). It seems both Kaidoru as well as the original game’s characters can be earned by playing the game as well as the gacha system. <\/p>\n

In Persona 5: The Phantom X beta, you could pull new characters by completing quests and using an in-game currency. However, in the final game, there could be ways to buy this currency with real money. It’s also not clear how the banner system works, but it could be similar to Genshin Impact or Honkai Starrail, where there are limited-time events in which some character drops are boosted over a period. <\/p>\n
