In the future though, there&#8217;s also Assassin&#8217;s Creed, Fallout, and Final Fantasy coming to the franchise. Final Fantasy mere months ago celebrated its sixteenth entry into the franchise and has another massive release coming next month in the form of the Final Fantasy VII Remake sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. As one of the biggest franchises in all of gaming, it was really only a matter of time before it ended up in one of the biggest franchises in the Trading Card Game world. But what can we expect from the Magic The Gathering Final Fantasy decks? We take a look and find out.<\/p>\n<p><pre><strong>22 January 2024 - <\/strong>Page updated and checked for the latest news and information.<\/pre>\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1h9ndhk0f4\">Magic The Gathering Final Fantasy Release Date<\/h2>\n<p>While we don&#8217;t have a specific release date for the Final Fantasy cards in Magic The Gathering Universes Beyond, we do know that they&#8217;ll be released in 2025 after an earlier indication that the set would launch in 2024. According to Wizards of the Coast, the Final Fantasy cards will be a &#8216;tentpole booster release&#8217;, seemingly indicating that similar to the Lord of the Rings set we&#8217;ll be getting both booster sets and decks available for the beloved video game franchise.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/j_8t2NgBZFTqX6BIGgoEF2TrjnlccIf_HP02i5fk5vs\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi8yX1J5YW5fRWFzYnlfUGljdHVyZXMvRkY3X3JlYmlydGguanBn\" alt=\"FF7_rebirth\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1h9ndhk0f5\">Final Fantasy Magic The Gathering Cards<\/h2>\n<p>While we don&#8217;t know specific cards that will be in the Final Fantasy Magic The Gathering Universes Beyond set, we do know that the set will include cards based on every single mainline Final Fantasy game, which means that there are sixteen different games for the set to pull from and sixteen entirely different universes to pull from.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This means that you could mix and match characters from the very first Final Fantasy game with characters from the latest Final Fantasy game and there&#8217;s a fairly decent chance that they&#8217;ll synergize. Although considering that the playable characters in the original Final Fantasy weren&#8217;t actually named, it&#8217;ll be interesting to see what they come up with for the card names.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1h9ndt4a011\">What Final Fantasy characters, items, and locations can we expect to see in the set?<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside the obvious characters such as Cloud, Tifa, Barrett, Sephiroth, Aerith, Squall, Noctis, Clive, and any other protagonist of a Final Fantasy game, we&#8217;ll likely see popular locations from the series be made into some form of card. Locations such as the Highwind airship from Final Fantasy VII, the entire Kingdom of Valisthea from Final Fantasy XVI, and maybe even the Blitzball stadium from the start of Final Fantasy X are all on the table as cards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also the possibility that we see iconic items such as Phoenix Down implemented into the game, with spells such as Firaga, Curaga, and Blizzaga turned into enchantments or instants that are playable to deal damage to your opponent or buff up yourself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/MdIjNgaegzMDMCXNfMLLuOiGGrLf19AHc3lIpdc6Wc0\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9NYWdpY19UaGVfR2F0aGVyaW5nL0ZpbmFsX0ZhbnRhc3kvRkZYVi5qcGc\" alt=\"FFXV\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1h9ne6shv1\">Will Magic The Gathering: Final Fantasy be in Magic The Gathering: Arena?<\/h2>\n<p>According to Wizards of the Coast, the set will also be available in Magic The Gathering Arena, which means you&#8217;ll be able to play with the cards online with friends who might live in a completely different country or location.
