Blizzard is making some big moves in Diablo 3 Season 29 (Visions of Enmity)<\/a>, the final season of the iconic ARPG, to get new content. At the top of the change list is a Diablo 3 Paragon ceiling (cap) that the community is a bit divided on.<\/p>\n

In this article, we explain the Paragon point cap in Diablo 3 Season 29,  why the developer made this change, and how it will work for your seasonal characters in normal, hardcore, or even the new Solo Self Found mode<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In previous seasons of Diablo 3, you could put 50 Paragon Points into most stats in a category, and there was no upper limit. For example, you could infinitely push points in Strength as a Barbarian. After a certain point, this became the best way to increase your power in Diablo 3.<\/p>\n

With Diablo 3 Season 29, you can now assign up to 200 points in each attribute. However, you can only assign 200 points in total (the cap!) to Core, Defense, Offense, and Utility categories.<\/p>\n

This means that you can, for example, push all 200 points into Critical Hit Chance, but then you will have no points for Cooldown Reduction, Attack Speed, or Critical Hit Damage under the Offensive category for a Demon Hunter. Therefore, the Paragon point ceiling\/cap is 800 in Diablo 3 Season 29. Blizzard explains:<\/p>\n

We understand that Paragon was king in terms of character power. With the change this Season, we wanted to shift that power from Main Stat grinding to gameplay knowledge and gear hunting. We chose 800 as our initial starting point and would appreciate your feedback on this cap. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The developer also made changes to Movement Speed and Area Damage since you can now put 200 Paragon Points into these stats if you want:<\/p>\n

  • Movement Speed:<\/strong> We changed Movement Speed to 0.125% per point because the old value would have provided players with 100% Movement Speed, which was too much. Players now have the option to place points into this stat, allowing them to surpass 25% Movement Speed from item bonuses.<\/li>\n
  • Area Damage: <\/strong>Area Damage should perform the same, if not a bit better, and with substantial improvements to performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Keep in mind that this Paragon point cap and changes is exclusive to Diablo 3 Season 29 and applies to all modes.<\/p>\n
